Before I begin this short fanfic, let me make one thing clear. This fanfic is no way tied to my other fanfics, nor is it supposed to tie in well with the series. Many things in this will more than likely never happen in the series.
In a nutshell: On the day of Ash's 16th birthday, his mom is greeted by three strangers. She knows who they are and why they've come, and she's afraid for her son. They aren't too happy with her since she's been hiding something from Ash. Meanwhile, Ash's friends have noticed something strange with him. Ash seems to be in a really playful mood, and he constanty experiences pain. Nobody knows what's going on with him, not even himself. However, when the three strangers confront Ash, Ash learns the truth about who and what he really is. Ash is forced to leave his friends and family behind as he prepares to dive deeper into the truth.
Part 1: Three Strangers
It was the morning of Ash's 16th birthday, and Ash's mom was happily working about the house. She only wished her son could be with her, but he was still out travelling on his journey with his friends. She was looking through and old photo album and pulled out a picture of when Ash was born. There was a small shot of Ash's father, but it was completely covered by dust. She sighed as she suddenly heard a knock at the door.
"I'm coming!" she said as she approached the door.
She opened it and saw two mysterious looking men, and one woman at the door.
"Hello Delia, it's been a while, sixteen years to be precise." one man said.
"Oh, it's you..." Delia sighed unhappily.
"Perhaps, it'd be best if we came inside." the woman suggested.
Delia nodded her head as she let the three in and slowly closed the door. The three strangers sat down on the couch. Delia sat down across from them.
"You can drop the disguises." Delia announced.
"It's best if we didn't." one man replied.
Delia tilted her head down.
"You know why we're here." the other men said.
"Why does it have to be today?" Delia asked.
"Because he's now of age, and we need him with the few of us left." the woman answered.
"Besides, you and your husband both agreed to this." one man reminded.
Delia began to cry.
"You didn't tell him, did you?" one man said in an annoyed voice.
"I just couldn't..." Delia sobbed.
"Stop crying, you know it's best for him! You shouldn't have hidden it from him, now he won't any idea of what's about to happen! If someone finds out we're all in trouble!" the woman exclaimed.
"I'm sorry." Delia cried.
"Well, what's done is done. I'm guessing he's not here, and that he's probably in some other region right now. We had better find him before it's too late." one man informed.
The three strangers took their leave. Meanwhile, Ash seemed to be in a rather cheery mood. He had been travelling with Brock, May, Max, and Misty for a good while.
"The birthday boy's happy." May said cheerfully.
"What do you expect? You're always happy on your birthday." Max said.
Brock and Misty both giggled as they saw him trip and fall on his face. Ash got back to his feet and began laughing.
"You've got to admit, something's wrong with that?" May pointed out.
"Yeah, kind of." Max agreed.
"I'm sure he's fine." Brock assured.
"But still, something doesn't seem right with him." Misty said worriedly.
Pikachu followed Ash closely, also curious about Ash's behavior. Ash suddenly crouched on his knees, putting his arms across his body. He let out a scream of pain.
"What's wrong Ash?" Misty wondered, running over to him.
"I don't know...all of a sudden it hurts...bad." Ash tried to say.
Everyone lay Ash down and examined him closely. They couldn't find anything wrong with him, and it was too far to get him to a Pokemon Center or hospital. Pikachu rubbed up against Ash.
"It's okay little buddy." Ash told him.
Ash got back to his feet. The pain still stabbed at him, but Ash just felt too happy to let it bother him for too long. Everyone grew extremely worried. They continued along the road when they saw three figures up ahead.
"You're right, he was here." one of them stated.
Ash and the others approached them.
"It's good to finally see you Ashura-kun*." one of the strangers greeted.
*Kun is a Japanese term used after a name to indicate a boy younger than you, it also indicates a boy lower in status or the same status as you.
Part 2: The Truth About Ash
"Ashura?" Ash wondered.
"I think you have the wrong person." May told the strangers.
"Yeah, his name is Ash, Ash Ketchum." Brock added.
"No, we have the right person." the other man confirmed.
"What do you mean Ashura? How do you know me?" Ash questioned.
"So it's true, you don't know." one man sighed.
"Know what?" Ash asked.
Ash suddenly crouched down in pain again, the pain seemed to coming from his backside this time. Everyone gathered around him again.
"Everyone relax, he's fine." the woman announced.
"What do you mean fine? He's hurt!" Max said.
"It's not something you should be concerned with, only Ashura has a right to know." one man said.
"I don't care, if you won't tell us, you're not getting one step closer to him." Mist threatened.
"Such a bother." one man sighed.
The man suddenly disappeared and reappeared behind Misty. Misty turned around with a look of shock on her face.
"Please, hand Ashura-kun over to us. His mother agreed to this, surely his friends can." the man said.
Misty looked at Pikachu, who seemed to be nodding his head like it was okay.
"First will you tell us what's going?" Misty asked.
"We told you, it's none of your concern." the woman reminded.
"Please, if you wan to tell me something, tell them." Ash begged.
"Fine, if Ashura-kun says so." the other man agreed.
Ash continued to feel the pain all over his body, but he sat up to listen as everyone sat down.
"Ash, what do you know about your father?" the woman wondered.
"Not much, I don't even remember what he looked like. I only remembered that he left to continue journey." Ash answered.
"That's not the truth, your mother didn't tell you, but he left because he was ill and knew he would die soon. He returned to us for his final moments. He did this because if he were to have died there, everyone would the truth about him." the woman explained.
"What truth?" Ash wondered.
"The truth is, your father was not a human, he was a pokemon, a Mew, that took on the appearance of a human." the woman revealed.
"A Mew? That can't be true!" Ash responded.
"It is, and you are his offspring. Since the dominant gene comes from the father, you're a Mew too. That's why you feel the way you do right now, you're body is trying to regain its original form. And you're real birth name is Ashura. We've come to take you home, to our paradise." a man finished.
"What do you mean "our"?" Misty asked.
The three strangers dropped their disguises, revealing all three of them to be Mews.
"You're all Mews?" everyone gasped.
"Ashura-kun, our race is slowly becoming extinct, it's not safe here right now. Please Ashura, come with us!" the woman pleaded.
Ash crouched in pain some more. Before he realized it, he began to shrink in size, his ears burned with pain as they seemed to move closer to his head. He noticed a small stub above his rear. Ash looked back and forth between his friends.
"You should go." Misty said in a low voice, tears begin to fall down her cheek.
Ash took off his belt with his pokemon and gave them to Misty. He asked her to take care of them. Ash continued to take the form of a Mew and his clothes seemed to fall off him. Pink fur soon enveloped his body. His hat fell off, and he could see that Misty cared for him. He went up to her and kissed her on the lips as his final changes took place. Misty's eyes widened as Ash's lips left hers. She placed her arms around him and hugged him softly, tears hitting Ash's head. Ash thanked his friends as he turned towards the three Mews. Misty stopped him and placed his hat on his head, telling him he didn't look right with out it. Ash began to cry as he smiled and turned back towards the Mews. He placed his Mew-like hand, into one of three's. He was now a full-fledged Mew.
"I'm ready." he said.
