Part 7: The Pendant"How did you do that?" Syria asked.
"I don't know, I just got angry and did. When I was a human, I think saw something like that before. Can't all Mews do that?" Ashura replied.
"No, at least...none that I know." Syria told him.
Ashura realized it was getting late and that he had to go meet up Nao, Eito, and Ayu.
"I have to go, it was nice meeting all of you." Ashura announced.
Ashura flew down to the water and got his hat. He shook it out to dry it and left them. Syria flew down to Sagi.
"That guy's something else..." Sagi admitted, trying to heal himself.
"I think tomorrow you should apologize to him." Syria suggested.
"Maybe..." Sagi sighed.
Ashura looked around frantically, trying to remember which island he agreed to meet the others on. He suddenly caught a familiar scent, one that he recognized. He never realized his hightened senses until now. He headed towards the nearby island where the scent came from. Surely enough, it was the one he had agreed to meet the others on.
"What was that little scuffle all about?" Nao interogated.
"Um..." Ashura tried to say.
"Relax, that guy deserved it. You just have to be more careful next time." Eito responded.
"About that thing I did, how did I...?" Ash began.
"Personally, we don't know. All we know is that you're more experienced than most Mews. It must be your father's genes." Ayu interupted.
"Speaking of your father, we have something of his we want to give you." Nao added.
Nao held up the necklace and placed it around Ashura's neck.
"Don't ever lose this thing, and know that whenever you're in trouble, somebody will always come to help you." Nao told him.
Ashura's eyes widened a little bit. Though he didn't know much about his father, he at least had a keepsake of him.
"I won't." Ashura promised.
Night soon fell upon the land. Ashura stayed with Nao and the others. They were all eating a special kind of berry that grew on trees in the land. Ashura was surprised by how much he enjoyed them. While eating, he asked Nao what he knew about his father. Nao told him that it was a story that would have to wait until another day. He did tell him though, that the reason Ashura stayed in human world was for his own good. And, that the reason he asked to come to the world of Mews was to protect him after his transformation took place, and so he could be with his kind.
"I see." Ashura understood.
Ashura stared at the pendant hanging around his neck.
"Dad, there's still so little I know about you, and myself for that matter." Ashura thought.
After Ashura finally fell asleep, Nao and the others began talking about him.
"Poor kid, it's a shame we can't tell him." Ayu said.
"Now, we may not be able to tell him...but, since he has his freedom, he may be able to find out much sooner than the council wants." Nao replied.
To be continued...(Credit goes to Dragoness)
I actually got the idea for this story from this picture. I also got the name, Ashura, from Dragoness' idea of Ash as a villain. No, he won't ever be a villain in my fanfic, I just liked the name.
