I'm just going to continue posting the chapters here until the the first season is done with. There's only about 20 or so chapters left.
Chapter 83: Anthony's Development
Despite the fact that Zack got Anthony early in the morning, it was already getting late and he was still asleep. Pikachu asked Zack's Pikachu to tell him something.
"He wants to know if Anthony's going to be okay?" Pikachu relayed.
"Don't worry, he's just exhausted. I already know he got little to no rest while he was training. He'll probably wake up later tonight and be restless." Zack assured.
Anthony's Pikachu seemed satisfied with Zack's answer. He walked over to his master and curled up beside him, falling asleep.
"Seems like he's just as tired." Anthony smiled.
"Yeah, I think his eagerness to see that the kid was okay is what kept him awake all this time." Pikachu agreed.
Hours later, Anthony finally stirred. He lifted his head and was surprised to find himself in Zack's place. He noticed Pikachu curled up beside him and smiled. Anthony then noticed a tray of food set out for him. He slowly moved, as to not disturn his little buddy, and ate it. After finishing, he looked around and wondered where Zack was. He stepped outside and saw Zack and all of his pokemon lying on the grass, staring up at the sky.
"Awake I see..." Zack said, not even looking in the direction.
"Yeah." Anthony replied.
Mew and Ninetails scooted over, giving Anthony some room to lie down next to Zack.
"So, how was it?" Zack asked.
"A nightmare..." Anthony answered.
"Figures. Do you think it was worth it though? Did my friends help you in some of the areas you needed to improve on?" Zack continued.
"Yeah, I would say so..." Anthony admitted.
"That's good." Anthony responded.
After just staring at te sky for a while, Zack and his pokemon got up.
"Let's go." he said.
"Sure." Anthony replied.
Chapter 84: Time to Set Off
The group spent about a month on the island, with Anthony training both his pokemon, and himself. Anthony also found himself befriending a lot of the pokemon. It wasn't hard for the pokemon to accept him, because they had previously done so with Ash years ago. Fianlly, one morning it was time to set off.
"Be sure and come back!" Lugia told Zack.
"Don't worry, I'll be back again in about half a year. I've always kept my promise to you guys." Zack reminded.
"Well then, take care." Lugia replied.
Everyone waved good bye and Anthony got on the board with Zack again. The group then set off and returned to the mainland. Once back in Pallet, Anthony went to see his mom again. After sticking around Pallet for a while, the Pokemon League began to draw nearer and nearer.
"I guess it's time we got going. If we don't, then you'll be late there." Zack suggested.
"Right." Anthony agreed.
After preparing themselves, and saying good bye, the group left and headed in the direction of the league.
"Have you ever participated in the Pokemon League?" Anthony wondered.
"Nah, I wouldn't want to show Mew and Pikachu off in a huge crowd like that." Zack stated.
"I know it's kind of a dumb reason, but I really want to win. If I do, then my dad will have no choice but to confront me." Anthony sighed.
"Calm down, you'll do fine. I'm sure your dad will be proud of you no matter happens, and I'm sure you'll see him again regardless of the result." Zack said cheerfully.
"Either way, I can't really take that chance." Anthony said.
"Don't worry, I won't let you down." Pikachu told him.
"I know you won't little buddy." Anthony smiled.
Anthony heaved a sigh.
"I'm just worried that I'll let myself down." Anthony thought.
After walking for weeks, with various training exercises, battles against other trainers and wild pokemon, the group had finally closed in on their destination.
"We'll be there tomorrow, and the tournament will begin a few days after. You ready for it?" Zack asked Anthony.
"Yes!" Anthony answered boldly.
"Perfect. I think, no, I know you'll do very well." Zack commented.
"Thanks." Anthony thanked.
Anthony turned towards Pikachu.
"We're almost there little buddy!" Anthony said.
Pikachu nodded in agreement.
