Chapter One--Graduation
It was the last day of school; only five more minutes until freedom. Peter was so excited, since finally, not only could he be done with school and head to the Indigo Plateu, but he will finally be able to recieve his first Pokemon. He was wondering what kind of Pokemon he could recieve. He'd always wanted an Articuno, but he knew that couldnt be his first Pokemon.
Then the bell rung.
"Alright kids, single file into this room," exclaimed Mr. Pidgey, Peter's teacher.
All of the class arose from their desks, except for Peter. Peter was still day dreaming on which Pokemon he had to choose.
"That includes you, loser!" snickered Pander. Ever since Peter and Pander were kids, they both have been rivals, trying to compete for the best.
As Peter awoke to reality, he embarrasly arose to his feet and ran to the where the other kids were going.
The class walked into a room they have never been before. It was quite dark and "scientific" to put it. In the middle of the room, there were rows of Pokéballs. Under each Pokéball was a name of a Pokémon. All the kids were astonished by the numbers of Pokémon they could select. All of them were basic Pokémon, some even from the regions of Johto and Hoenn. Every child in the room was thinking the same thing: "Which Pokémon should I choose?"
"Alright children," said Mr. Pidgey, "the kids with the top 5 grades get to choose first."
The whole class complained. Everyone knew Pander was the top cheese in the class, so everyone knew their chances were impossible be the first to get a Poké. Peter was usually a straight A student, but the last few months, he fell behind on his homework. He hoped that his previous grades would pull.
Mr. Pidgey called the first five students. Peter barely fit in the top five. He broke some as he walked with the rest of the top geeks.
Everyone stood, as Pander was picking his Pokémon. Everyone hoped he wouldnt pick the one they wanted. Pander then walked over to the Treecko Pokéball and selected it. A few moaned once the Pokéball was raised from its' slot. Before Peter could choose, Bulbasaur, Mudkip, and Cyndaquil were also taken from their slots. Peter looked carefully at his choices. He didnt want to choose the wrong one. He then remembered what his brother, Josh, chose when he graduated. So he decided to be like family and choose Squirtle.
After everyone picked, the whole class got their diploma, and were now eligible to go to the Indigo Plateu without fighting all the gym leaders. However, they had much training to do before they could fight in the Pokemon league.
As Peter was heading home to Vermillion City, he was encountered by Pander.
"Hey Peter! Wanna lose in a Pokémon battle?" asked Pander.
Peter knew he had a disadvantage fighting against a grass type, but he wanted to show off to Pander that he could fight.
Peter dropped his backpack and took out his Pokeball from his belt.
"Bring it on, Pander," replied Peter with a grin.
