Chapter 104
Gary's Side of the Story! The Search For Drake Begins!!
Previously: Drake headed for Jasmine to stop her, for reasons beknownst to only him and Clair. There, he found some difficulties getting to her. Once he did, she violently attacked him. The whole of the Olivine Lighthouse collapsed.
Back in Cianwood, now that Gary was fully healed, he began to tell Ash, May, and Sakura his side of the story. "I was confronted by Chuck after Karen was arrested at Mt. Mortar. You two," he began, pointing at Ash and May, "were already in Ecruteak. He seemed a little strange, like something had frightened him a little too much." "And then what happened?" asked Ash. "He attacked me. I remember it a little too clearly. All the other Gym Leaders had left the scene, and this is how it went."
[cue flashback]
"Hitmonlee! Use Jump Kick!" cried Chuck. "Mr. Mime! Use Barrier!" "Mime! Mr. Mime!" shouted Mr. Mime, raising a barrier around itself. "Hitmonlee! Roll that Jump Kick into Rolling Kick!" "Mr. Mime! Stop it with Psychic!" Hitmonlee stopped, paralyzed in the air. "Now throw it with Confusion!" "Mime!" Mr. Mime flung Hitmonlee into Chuck. Gary recalled his Pokémon and ran for it.
[end flashback]
"And then?" questioned Sakura. "And then I felt something go through me," said Gary, wincing at the memory.
[cue flashback]
"Umbreon! Come on out! Lead the way through tonight." His Pokémon led the way through the thick brambles of the forest. Suddenly, Gary doubled over with pain. Falling to all fours, he screamed out as the pain intensified. Umbreon tried its best to help its trainer, finally just giving up. Gary stood up and recalled Umbreon, the pain gone and a red look in his eyes.
[end flashback]
"I think that what happened to me also happened to Chuck..." said Gary.
Meanwhile, the police of Olivine were searching through the remains. They had several Machamp and Machoke on the scene removing debris. "They're not here!" cried an officer. "Find them!" cried Officer Jenny.
